Trinity Seminarian Dan Forehand

On Sunday, January 22, Seminarian Dan Forehand and his wife Kim joined us in worship.  Four seminarians went to congregations in the Greater Cleveland area to receive further exposure to the larger church, and possibly forge closer ties between the Northeastern Ohio Synod and the seminary in Bexley/Columbus.  Please click on "Sermons" at left to hear Dan's message.

Christmas Eve 2011

Hope's Christmas Eve candlelight service started at 6:30 p.m. with special music and presentations from many members of all ages.  This opening was followed by carols, readings, sermon and communion.  Hope wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and God's blessings throughout the New Year!

Deck The Halls!

After the last Sunday in Advent church service, members of Hope stayed to "Deck The Halls" of our sanctuary and eat pizza.  Please choose "Photo Album", on left, to see more images.

Men's Pancake Breakfast

On Sunday, December 11th the men's group (with some help) held a pancake breakfast.  Pancakes, sausages, eggs, and fruit were on the menu.  Proceeds went to the purchase of a new refridgerator and freezer for the congregation.

Homeless Stand Down

Some Hope members assemble 70 kits of mens toiletry items for donation to the Homeless Stand Down.

Schwan Tree Decoration

Following the first Advent Wednesday celebration, Grace, Bethlehem, and Noble Road Presbyterian members joined Hope members making animal-edible ornaments for the Schwan Tree in Lakeview Cemetery.  Approximately 30 people gathered on Saturday, December 3rd to decorate the pine tree and surrounding bushes.

We join in the ordination anniversaries of rostered leaders in our congregation. This celebrates 85 collective years of service!

Welcome Pastor Jen Eppler

Godly Play Facilitator

Pastor Jen Eppler joins us at Hope Lutheran this year as "Children's Minister"; an interpreter of, and facilitator for , Godly Play, our new children's education initiative.  Pastor Jen comes to us from the United Methodist Church, where she had spent 20 years in inner city and Hispanic congregations, and had most recently served on the Pastoral Care staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve for three years.

Hillcrest Band Concert And Ice Cream Social

As part of our LOMO week celebration, the Hillcrest Band provided music for an old-fashioned, on the lawn, band concert.  This was folowed by an ice cream social.  The entire neighborhool was invited to both events.

LOMO Camp Another Great Success!!

We are happy to report that our LOMO summer camp was well attended with about 25 neighborhood children coming each day. Fun was had by all! The kids, councilors, and adults alike all enjoyed arts, crafts, food, and friendship. We look forward to next year's camp!!

Youth-Led Service

On Sunday, June 5, 2011, some of the youth of Hope led the congregation in worship.  Included were two short sermons which can be heard by choosing "Sermons" on the left.  More photos can be found on Hope's album page by choosing "Photo Album" on the left.

Dedication Of Blue Star Flag

On Sunday, May 29, Pastor Don King dedicated a military Blue Star Flag, to remind us of the survice of some of Hope's members in the military.  The flag was donated by one of our families whose daughter just completed her time of service.

The Hope Community joins in a procession of Palms remembering Palm Sunday.

New Members are received into the Hope Church membership on April 17, 2011.

LMM Evening of Faith & Friendship

Deaconess Deborah Nebel (on left) is one of two recipients of the Faith & Friendship Award given by Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry this year.  Presenting the award along with accompaning resolutions from the City of Cleveland, Mayor Jackson, Senator Brown, and Congressman Kucinich, is Carol Fredrich, President and CEO of LMM.
